Enemy of the State

The point of this sequence is to let the audience know briefly what this film might be about. The film has been edited to show different parts of the film to catch the audience's attention.

The first image on the document is a close-up shot, this close-up is very important as you clearly can see the card being inserted in to a device, which may have not been seen if it was a medium range shot as the audience could be distracted. This close-up shows the viewer how communication is being tracked.

The second image on the document is a medium shot, this shot was a good shot because the audience is able to see the the old white man's computers and other device, it is noticeable that the technology looks very advance. The image also shows that the old man is sitting and up to something while the black man behind him watches him, the audience wouldn't be able to see this if it was a close-up.
Enemy of the State

At 0:33 of the clip, there is a close-up of a television displaying a man on a news channel talking about freedom and if it should be limited as it is being misused by terrorist. The purpose of this shot was that  so the audience can see what is showing on the television clearly without distraction. At 0:39 there is a close-up of the black man, the purpose of this shot is so the audience can see him. From 0:41 to 0:47 there is a medium shot, this is useful as the audience get to see where these two characters are talking, we also get to see the woman's posture and expression. We then see the black man's expression and relaxed actions. The editing cut made between 0:40 and 0:41 is not smooth and very noticeable. I find that the editing of this sequence makes it fit in with the genre of the thriller, as suspence is present, also more is revealed to the audience about what is going on.
